Martha Whitted

Martha Baker Whitted, age 71, of Whitted Rd, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was the daughter of the late Ted Walter and Essie Sue Cubertson Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Whitted in 2002 one son, Teddy Whitted in 2000; and a brother, Mack Baker. She is survived by two faithful sons, Mark Whitted of Leicester and Rodney Whitted of Canton; one daughter, Cathy Blanchard of Franklin; one sister, Marjorie Icenhower of Leicester; one brother, Joe Robert Baker of Leicester; six grandchildren and ten great - grandchildren. Ms. Whitted was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Wayne Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Brick Church Cemetery in Leicester. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. prior to the service and at other times at 6 Whitted Rd. Leicester, N.C. 28748.
