Marty Killian

Marty Wayne Killian, age 45, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Shirley Gene Killian and Brenda Gail Jenkins Killian. He was formerly employed by Haywood Community College as a financial aid specialist. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member teaching Sunday school and Awana. Marty was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching North Carolina Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves. His pride and joy was his family, most of all, his son. He will be remembered for being hard-working, humble, and dedicated to serving the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandy Killian; son, Aaron Killian of Canton; sister, Tracy Barger of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Charles Killian of South Carolina; aunt, Pat Henline of Clyde; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
