Marvin Jones

April 12, 1921 — January 25, 2005

Clyde- Marvin Dennis Jones, age 83, of 55 Smathers Street, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Transylvania County and had lived most of his life in Haywood County. Mr. Jones was a son of the late Joseph and Geneva Wilson Jones and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Jones Warner who died October 17, 2003. He was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church and retired from Champion International with 41 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pearl Banks Jones of Clyde; one son-in-law Don Warner of Canton, one brother Mitchell Jones of Cedar Mt., NC, 2 grandchildren, Michelle Sawyer and her husband Allen of Canton and Chad Warner and his wife Tanya of Lake Junaluska, 3 great-grandchildren, Collin and Kendell Warner and Houston Sawyer. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January, 27, 2005 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. Reverend Randall Tingle and Reverend James Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton on Thursday prior to the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Clyde Central United Methodist Church, Flood Relief, 410 Charles Street, Clyde, NC 28721.
