Mary Blalock

Canton-Mary Louise Bishop Blalock-92 formerly of Henson Cove, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Sunnybrook Healthcare Center in Raleigh.

She was a native of Jackson County and had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Rosalie Arrington Bishop. She was the wife of the late Samuel Edgar Blalock who died in 1980 and was also preceded in death by her 3 sons, Edgar, Charlie and Bill Blalock. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

She is survived by two grandsons, David and Chuck Blalock both of Raleigh, 2 granddaughters, Laura Smith of Greenville, NC and Connie Spero of Chapel Hill, NC, 6 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria, Melissa and Chase Blalock and Brett Spero and Keton Smith.

Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend James Parham officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1918 Murray Road, Canton, NC 28716, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1515 Mockingbird Lane, Charlotte, NC 28209 or to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
