Mary Burnette

Mary M. Burnette, 84, of Canton, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 4, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Elsie Maude Inman and George Henry Stepp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Robert Burnette a son, William Steve Burnette, brothers, James and David Stepp and sister, Thelma Bridges.

Mary was a native of Haywood County and a member of Holiness Church of God. She enjoyed reading her Bible and had done so many times through. She worked for American Enka for over 25 years and loved her pets.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Roy Burnette and wife Jo Ann of Waynesville, Willis J.R. and wife Carolyn, Richard Dale and wife Terry and Bobby Ray Burnette all of Canton, daughter, Elsie Christine Pless and husband Butch of Canton, sisters, Lucille Williams and Ruth Jones, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2PM on Thursday in the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn with the Reverend's James White and Roy Kilby officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel an hour prior to the services. Entombment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
