Waynesville – Mary Ann Rogers Farmer, 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her residence.
Mary was a native of Buncombe County, but had resided in Haywood for most of her life, and was a daughter of the late Cecil Cromwell and Layla Hove Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Ann Farmer; son, Gary Lynn Farmer; sister, Wanda Farmer; and brother, Fred Rogers. Mary was a wonderful cook and loved to watch dog racing, traveling, bingo, playing cards, and carrom games.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raymond Lewis Farmer; one son, Ronnie Alton Farmer and his wife, Kathy, of Clyde; five grandchildren, Jeremy Vincent Farmer, Tracy Lynn Swallows, Beth Ann Hill, Michael David Farmer, and Jennifer Farmer; two step-grandchildren, Glenn Allen Allison and William Tyler Lee Allison; numerous great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Vickie Hensley.
A private graveside service was held at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.
