Mary Forbes

Augusta, Georgia - Mrs. Mary Elaine Bragg Forbes, 84, beloved wife of the late Leroy Forbes, entered into rest on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Mrs. Forbes was born in Washington DC, the daughter of Roy C. and Mary Bragg. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Pettitt and her brother, Earnest Bragg. Her father was a retired Marine Corps major, who was also a prominent councilman in the area. She attended George Washington University and was named Miss U.S. Marine Corp of 1947. She is survived by her children; Virginia Lee Baker, Linda E. Powell, Arthur L. Greene, Bryan Russell Greene, Maribeth Loving Barnello, Joseph William Ergle, Robert Ray Forbes and Timothy Daniel Forbes, her two brothers; Daniel L Bragg and Roy C. Bragg, Jr., as well as eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville, North Carolina.
