Mary Franklin

Maggie Valley, Mary Douglass Franklin, age 89, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation.

A native of Oklahoma, she was a resident of Haywood County for the past 50 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Jerome Franklin, who died in 2011; and her two sons, Michael and Bradley Nelson.  Mary was a Nurse in the health care industry.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, making dresses and Christmas decorations, and crafting.  Mary loved going on drives and being with her family.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Franklin; two grandchildren, Kim and Travis Stamey; and five great-grandchildren.

No services are planned.

The care of Mrs. Franklin has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
