Mary Gibson

"Loving Mother and Grandmother" Waynesville – Mary Ruth Gibson, age 77, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Brian Center of Waynesville. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Carrie Bell Guy Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leonard Gibson, who died in 1974 and a son, Charles Sydney Gibson. Mary was a former employee of Paxar Incorporation. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Crawley and Loretta Bagshaw and husband, Lee, all of Waynesville; a son, Terry James Gibson of Dallas, NC; a sister, Ellie Rhyne of Lincolnton, NC; five brothers, Paul, Dan, James "Bud", Howard, and R.L. Gibson all of Dallas. NC; and five grandchildren, Derrick Crawley, Leonard Ray, Brenda Lee Crawley and Mandy and Jason Gibson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Old River Baptist Church with the Reverend Nathan Ashe officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
