Mary Hardin-Jamison

Mary Elizabeth Hardin-Jamison, age 97, of Lowe Street passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Baptist Retirement Home. A native of Caldwell County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Robert Winfield and Lura Ann Hilliard Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Clifford Hardin, who died in 1967; a son, Bill Hardin; two sisters, Marie and Maggie; and three brothers, Gilbert, David and Ercell Riley. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy which she attended regularly. Mary was a very creative person who love to cook, quilt, sew, and make ceramics. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Fender and her husband, Conley, of Asheville; a son, Paul Hardin of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Steven Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
