They then returned to Waynesville, where she and her husband were owners of Stovall's 5¢ and 10¢ Store on Main Street, downtown Waynesville. Mary's career included jobs as secretary for law offices, office manager for a local medical practice, clerk for the Town of Waynesville, and office manager for Atlas Press, associated with the Waynesville Mountaineer. Mary was devoted to her family. She was also a giving person, visiting folks in the nearby nursing homes and providing transportation to individuals who could no longer drive.
