Mary Lee

Mary Israel Lee, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Haywood House. A native of Buncombe County, she had resided in Haywood County since she was five years old and was the daughter of the late, Hobert and Nina Israel. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Era Fay Israel. She retired from American Enka with 33 years of service and was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. She delivered meals on wheels for 15 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir and was active in the WMU. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Hubert Andrew Lee; and a son, James Hubert Lee of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jason Miller and Reverend Roy Houston officiating. Entombment will follow at The Horizon at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
