Mary Mccracken

Clyde, Mary Lou McCracken, age 85, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Emerson and Grace Holder McCracken.  In addition to her parents she was a preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Cutshaw, Doris Holt and Alice Frady; brother, David Joe McCracken.  Mary was a graduate of Clyde High School and retired from Dayco in the hose department with 35 years of service.  She was a member of Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  Mary loved cooking for herself, family and friends.  She enjoyed reminiscing about her high school basketball games where she would average over 30 points per game.

Mary is survived by her loving family, a sister, Johnnie Sue Breece; brother Jimmy McCracken, and his wife, Judy, all of Clyde; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2724 Hyder Mountain Road, Clyde, NC 28721.

The care of Miss McCracken has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
