Mary Wright

"In Loving Memory" Canton – Mary Lou McClure Wright, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late William Lee and Dora Green McClure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wright, who died in 2002 and several brothers and sisters. Mary Lou will be remembered as a wonderful mother and a very special lady. At a young age, she developed a strong and dedicated work ethic, working into her early 80's. An avid gardener, each year she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She is survived by a daughter, Angela Wright of Candler; a son, Rod Wright of Goldsboro; one sister, Charlene Towe of Windsor, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Russell officiating.
