Candler – Mary Ruth McElrath McFalls, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace Center.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Ada Carines McElrath. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack David McFalls, who died in 2007. Mary Ruth was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, Russell David McFalls and wife, Anna, of Culpeper, Virginia; two grandchildren, Alison McFalls Lott and husband, Josiah, of Costa Rica, and Andrew Russell McFalls and fiancé, Mary Kelly Barry, of Charleston, South Carolina; and two great-grandchildren, Stokes and Annabelle Lott.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Kent Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hice Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
