Mary Medford

Clyde, Mary Lou Messer Medford, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Mary Lou was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Ruth Tucker Messer. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lou Anne Medford Justice. Mary Lou was faithfully devoted to her family and was a member of Long�s Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Lawrence Medford; a daughter, Sherry Medford Justice and her husband, Bobby, of Clyde; a brother, William A. Messer of Bethel; a sister, Anna Sawyer of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Rachel Justice, Will and Heath Justice, Heather Justice Blankenship and her husband, Ryan and one great granddaughter, Hailey Blankenship. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Long�s Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Charles �Chuck� Wilson, III and Reverend Leyton Alan Mears officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Will and Heath Justice, Ryan Blankenship, Jimmy and George Sawyer and Danny Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph and Joe Jack Messer. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Venue. At other times the family will be at the home.
