Mary Phillips

Canton – Mary Frances Thompson Phillips, 95, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Mary was a native of Polk County and a daughter of the late Lewis Gray and Nora Cook Thompson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Drew E. Phillips; two sons, John G. and Stewart W. Phillips; a grandson, Christopher Phillips; and two sisters, Edith Miller and Grace McGinnis.  She was a dental assistant for Dr. Carey Wells for 30 years and a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelia Hannah of Canton; three grandchildren, Erica Hannah, Mark Hannah, and Angela Phillips; and six great-grandchildren, Kameron, Leeya, Sierra, Kaylee, Summer, and Hannah.

A private graveside service will be held Locust Field Cemetery with the Reverend Brandon C. Lazarus officiating.

The family would like to express their gratitude for all the loving care that was given to Mary by Lisa Leatherwood and the staff at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
