Mary Roberson

Mary Sue Owenby Roberson, 96, of Swannanoa passed away Monday, September 22, 2014. A native of Bat Cave, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche Hill Owenby. Sue had been a member of First Baptist Church of Swannanoa for over 60 years and had retired from Beacon Manufacturing.
In addition to her parent, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Roberson and siblings, Roy and Max Owenby and Florence Owenby Connor.
She is survived by her children, Linda Roberson, Tony (Marguerite) Roberson and Scott Roberson; granddaughters, Nichole (EJ) Pasteur and Melisa (Mike) Cook; 3 great grandchildren and siblings, Ollie Huntley, Ann (James) Thompson, Marvin and Walter Owenby and Julia Rhodes.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 26th at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain with Dr. Jeffrey Dowdy officiating. The family will receive friends at her home from 5-8 on Thursday at 102 Alexander Avenue, Swannanoa. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Swannanoa, Renovation Fund, 503 Park Street, Swannanoa, NC 28778.
