Mary Sellers

July 5, 1922 — May 29, 2005

Mary Donaldson Sellers, age 82, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at her residence following a long illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Jacob "Jake" Lawrence and Lydia Looper Donaldson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Sellers, Jr. who died in 1977 and two brothers Clarence and William Donaldson. She graduated from Bethel High School and was employed with Haywood Community College for 20 years from 1977 - 1998. She loved to knit and was affiliated with the Methodist faith. She also enjoyed sightseeing and spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Sellers of Newport, VA; a son, Keith Sellers of Maggie Valley; three sisters, Fran Crowson of Canton, Katherine of Texas and Flo Avra of Houston, TX ; a brother, James Donaldson of Knoxville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June, 1, 2005 at New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Howard Pless officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. prior to the services at the Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton.
