Mary Smith

Clearwater, FL-Claudia Smith, age 69, formerly of Haywood County, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she had resided in Clearwater, Florida for the past 45 years. She was the daughter of Mabel Lillian Sutton Greene of Gastonia and the late Reverend C.H. Greene who died in 1984. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Smith, who died in 1999. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Robert Grant Kuykendall of Clearwater, Fl; one brother, Charles H. Greene and his wife, Martha, of Gastonia; and two nieces and nephews, Charles R. Greene and his wife, Dawn, of Gastonia, NC and Julia Claudia Knudson and her husband, Ken, of Boston, MA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Parham officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
