Mary Thompson

Mary C. Medford Thompson, age 87, of Dutch Cove Road, died Thursday, October 15, 2009, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Cephus Eldridge and Mary Walls Medford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Thompson, who died on September 28, 2009. She was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church and an avid reader. She is survived by a brother, Lewin Medford of Canton; a brother-in-law, Bill Thompson and his wife, Jane, of Canton; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Love officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
