Mary Wallace

Maggie Valley, Mary Grey Walker Wallace, age 82, of Riverside Villa Drive, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, she had lived in West Palm Beach, Florida for 28 years. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Zephie Williams Walker and was also preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Lynn Riche; one son, Steven Ralph Wallace; four sisters; and one brother. A teacher for 32 years, Mary taught 28 years for the Palm Beach County School System. She was a member and a former secretary at Maple Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in her yard, was an avid reader, and a seamstress. Mary is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ralph Wallace; one daughter, Dawn Womack and her husband, Steve, of Buford, Georgia; two sisters, Betty Dunham of West Palm Beach, Florida and Nancy Cox of Morristown, Tennessee; one brother, Steven Walker, of Etowah, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. James Mackey and Reverend Kelly Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Marion Ferguson, Joe Davis, Cody Womack, Frank Dunham, Greg Boyd, and Mike Cox. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
