Mary Williams

Mary Fox Williams, age 87, of Milk Sick Cove Road died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at St. Josephs Hospital. She was a native of Yancey County and the daughter of the late William Madison and Amanda Metcalf Fox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grayson Harmon Williams, Sr., who died in 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Mandy Freeman of Candler and Cilla Kay Edwards and her husband, Vernon, of Mars Hill; a son, Grayson Harmon Williams, Jr., and his wife, Glenna, of Candler; a sister, Zilla Fox Young of Erwin, TN; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Rotha Wilson officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Family Cemetery in Yancey County. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 prior to the service.
