Mattie Haney

Canton - Mattie Hutchinson Blythe Haney, age 95, died Friday, February 14, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Buncombe County and had resided in Haywood County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Annie Bell Culbertson Hutchinson. She was the wife of the late Herman Blythe who died in 1943, Joel Williams who died in 1975 and Jesse Haney who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Crystal Radford and Ruth Eckenrod and a brother, Gordon Hutchinson.

She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Sunny Point Baptist Church. She was a member of "Joker's" bowling league.

She is survived by a sister, Louise Herndon and her husband, E.D. of Canton, several step-children and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2003 at the
Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverends Bill Jenkins and Jarvis Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
