Maude Crayne

December 17, 1935 — June 27, 2008

Maggie Valley, Maude Elizabeth Miller Crayne, age 72, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at her residence. She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Jessie and Jessie Cordelia Edwards Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Yoder Crayne; a son, Jack Hannah; three brothers, Paul Miller, Ned Burris, and J.B. Miller; two sisters; Hazel Queen and Pansy Cook and a grandson, Terry Cogdill. Maude was a member of North Hazelwood Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Pansy Davis and Betty Cogdill of Maggie Valley; a son, Eddie Hannah of Saunook; a step-son, Keith Crayne and his wife, Becky of Marietta, SC; a sister, Jeannie Cagle of Waynesville; two grandsons, Scott Wood and Daniel Hannah: two step-grandaughters, Misty James and Alexis Crayne; two great-grand sons, Scott Wood and Zane Hannah and a step-great-granddaughter, Tia and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
