Maude Boydston Evans passed away on Christmas Day. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of Denton and Daisy Burkhart Boydston of Canton. Preceding Mrs. Evans in death was her husband, Charles Ralph Evans. Her brother, Frank and sisters, Ruby, Ruth, and Bonnie also preceded her in death. Surviving Mrs. Evans are her sons, Steve, Joe, Charlie and her daughter, Ellen. Her sister Reva also survives as well as nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was a member of Long's United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Long's United Methodist Church with the Reverend Rennie Salata officiating. Burial will follow at Long's Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to Long's Community Cemetery Fund, 587 Evans Road, Canton, NC 28716.
