Maude Sheffield

Maude Massie Sheffield, age 87, died Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Dovie Trull Massie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hill Sheffield who died in 1998. Maude and her husband, Vernon, owned and operated Sheffield Farms for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Verneta Parham and her husband, J. L. of Canton and Emma Jean Singleton of Canton; three grandchildren, James Alan Parham of Knoxville, TN, Sharon Vandegrift and her husband, John of Spartanburg, SC, and Dr. Gina Singleton-Perez and her husband, Dr. Rodney Perez of Asheville; four great-grandchildren, Lucy and Logan Parham, Grace Vandegrift and Gavin Perez. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Herman Toney and Reverend Perry Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
