Max Chapman

Max Haywood Chapman, age 73, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John Haywood and Azoline Ellis Chapman. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Haywood Chapman, Jr. who died in 2009. He retired from Champion International with 34 years of service. Max loved to camp. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita McFalls Chapman; a son, John Haywood Chapman of Canton; a daughter, Sandra Hogg and her husband, Keith, of Clyde; three grandchildren, Michael Chambers and his wife, April, David Chambers and his wife, Ashley, and Kimberly Chapman; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Diesel Chambers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Carson and Reverend Jack Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
