Maxine Gathmann

Fairview - Maxine Stamey Gathmann died Friday, October 7, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a native of Haywood County but resided in Fairview. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosa Faye Sisk Stamey and was the wife of the late Gerald Owen Gathmann who died in 2004. Mrs. Gathmann was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Mark Gathmann who died in 1978; a sister, Colleen S. Bowman and a brother, Lawrence Stamey, Jr. She retired from Ingles with 16 years of service. She enjoyed ceramics, crafts and also floral arranging. She is survived by one son Gregory Lawrence Ingram of Apex, NC; two sisters, Betty Ray of Clyde and Barbara Warren of Candler; three step-daughters, Sheryl Judd of Lincoln, Ill., Sharon Stuckey of Canton, Ill. and Karen Gathmann of Morton, Ill.; one step-son, Greg Gathmann of San Jose, Ill.; five step-grandchildren and her beloved Boston Terrier dog named Shaver. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2005 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Fairview with the Reverend Glenda Bramlet and Reverend H. D. Houck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
