May Bell Fox Jenkins, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lovey Clark Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, H. J. "Jack" Jenkins, who died in 2002. May Bell lived most of her life in Haywood County and was a member of West Canton Baptist Church. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by two sons, David Jenkins and his wife, Margaret, of Woodlawn, TN, and Robert Jenkins and his wife, Sandra, of McDonough, GA; two daughters, Martha Good of Canton, and Ann Jenkins of the home; three sisters, Juanita Jenkins of Waynesville, Nancy Hannah of Canton, and Betty Sue Potter of Burnsville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Joe Steadman and the Reverend W. O. "Bill" Henson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC or to West Canton Baptist Church, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
