Mazie Harrell

Waynesville, Mazie Green Harrell, age 82, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late William Myron and Bertha Haney Green and the wife of John Arthur Harrell who died November 13, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Myron Davis; a sister, Elsie Sanford, and four brothers, Clarence, Howard, Hobert and Jay Green. Mazie was employed by Dayco Corporation for 36 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; three step-daughters, Patricia Pless of Vernon, AL; Lynda Pless and Carolyn Suttles of Canton; six step-grandchildren and special friend, Linda James. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., April 15, 2008 at Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church with Reverend Jay Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Dawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale, Dean, Dallas, Keith, Kevin and Earl Green. Honorary pallbearers will be her neighbors, J.D. Hill, Dean Reeves, Bob Clark, Guy Angel and Dean Medford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1300 Ratcliffe Cove Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
