Melanie Jones

Melanie Caroline Jones, 54, of Candler passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Memorial Mission Hospital.  A native of Buncombe County, she was daughter of the late Tom and Ann Jones.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Jones.

Melanie proudly served as a Sergeant in the US Army during Desert Storm as a combat medic. Following her military service, she became a pediatric nurse.

She is survived by two daughters, Robyn Huffman of Swannanoa and Sara Huffman of Midland, NC; son, Damon Jones of Candler; sister, Alison Jones of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Court Jones and his wife, Samantha of Phoenix, AZ and Charles Jones of Hendersonville; two granddaughters, Anyah and Journey Cooper; several nieces and nephews and a granddog, “Winnie”.

A funeral service with military honors provided by the US Army will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in the Wells Chapel of Faith, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive. Private green burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.

The care of Ms. Jones has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
