Melissa Reece

Clyde-Melissa Dawn Gaddis Reece, age 37, of 90 William Drive, died on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Floyd and Joyce Morrow Gaddis of Waynesville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John S. Morrow; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Gaddis; and an uncle, Dean Gaddis. She enjoyed racing, Tennessee football, and her children. She was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of seven years, Shane Reece; three sons, Matthew Shelton and his wife, Natasha, of Waynesville, W.R. Daniel Farmer of Clyde, and Zachary Nathaniel Reece of Canton; one grandson, Cameron James Shelton; two brothers, Lesley Dean Gaddis and his wife, Sharon, of Waynesville and Johnny Morrow and his wife, Jessi, of Clyde; maternal grandmother, Rosa Morrow, of Waynesville; special aunts and uncles, John and Sue Carr and Irene and Charles Shuler; and special cousins, Tammy Messer, Johnny Ray Hannah, Jr., Cindy Hunter, and Sherry Gaddis; in-laws, Rick and Nancy Garrison of Swannanoa and Howell and Judy Reece of Whittier; three sister-in-laws, Michelle Shipman and her husband, David, of Canton, Tracy Millington and her husband, M.C., and Kim Reece, all of Swannanoa; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend J.D. Grant and Reverend John Swanger III officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home and at other times, at the home of her parents, 150 Killian Street, Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Lesley Gaddis, Johnny Morrow, Mitchell Rathbone, Damien McElroy, Tony Knight, and Jonathan Lanning. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, Canton, OH 44720.
