MERV TERRY

Waynesville-Mervin E. ''Merv'' Terry, age 66, of 1234 A. Crabtree Rd., died August 28, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Dixon, Illinois and was the son of the late Frank R. and Theresa Hohlen Terry. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Am Vets, American Legion, Lake Junaluska Golf Course, Mt. Dora Florida Golf Association, and the Baytree Florida Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thompson Terry of Tavares, FL and Waynesville; two daughters, Cynthia Terry Hawthorne of Leesburg, FL, and Brenda Terry Hyre of Grand Island, FL; three step-daughters, Kristy Brown of Tavares, FL, Kimberly Folgore of Eustis, FL, and May Haines of Sorrento, FL; one step-son, Adam Haines of Florida; three sisters Maryanne Zarder of Atlanta, GA, Dorothy Rhodes of Dixon, IL, and Sue Raskam of Hover, AL; three brothers, Don Terry of Apple River, IL, Chuck Terry of Deland, FL, and Leroy Terry of Pinson, AL; two grandchildren; and two step-grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Mike Shuford officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. prior to the service.
