Waynesville-Michael Jon "Bulldog" Apsey, age 42, died suddenly Thursday, December 6, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Saginaw County, MI and a prior resident of Bay City, MI. He had lived in Haywood County for the past nine years. He was the son of the late Clarence Lyle Apsey and was also preceded in death by a brother, Gregg Scott Apsey. He traveled the United States as a truck driver. He was a talented tattoo artist and poet who had a very humble spirit. He was a very honest and straight-forward person. He loved to laugh and was a very loving son, father and a loyal best friend. His life's motto was "always had your back." Michael is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Henderson Apsey; a daughter, Angelic Davis, of Bay City, MI; three sons, Thomas Lee Charo of Waynesville, Nicholas Shane Charo and Jonathan Apsey of Bay City, MI; a sister, Dawn Renee March and her husband, Clyde of Waynesville; a brother, Steven Apsey of Maggie Valley; two grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Charo and Zachariah Jordan Davis; five nephews, Steven , Andy, Nick and Jesse Apsey and his best friend, Robert Lyle Ferguson; two nieces, Amy-Jo Slater and Stacey Apsey; his best friend, Todd Berrong, his special friend, Mary Lou Cunningham and his loving dog, Sierra. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. At the family's request, Michael would have wanted everyone to dress "laid back and casual". NO SUITS AND TIES.
