Michael Burgess

Waynesville, Michael Ray Burgess, age 52, of 233 Lorraine Drive, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Marion and Wilma Green Burgess and was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Burgess. A carpenter by trade, his passions in life were family, rock n'roll, and his love for his constant companion pit bull, "Boss Man." He was defined as "Free Bird" by his family and friends. He is survived by two sons, Jonathan and Joshua Burgess, both of Waynesville; three sisters, Cindy Burgess, Rebecca Brooks, and Brenda Lee, all of Waynesville; one grandson, Harley Burgess; and several nieces and nephews..
