Michael G. Jones of Asheville, NC, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, with his loving wife by his side.
Michael was reunited in Heaven with his parents JB Jones and Mildred Maxwell Jones.
Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He never turned down the opportunity to make someone smile; he was always cracking a joke. However, his faith was first and foremost. Michael was a faithful member of Mountain View Church of God where he loved playing the bass for the choir. Michael was the number one fan for the Dallas Cowboys and UNC Tarheels. He was also a NASCAR fanatic who made the official die-cast models for the NASCAR souvenir trucks.
The light of his life is his children, and his very heartbeat was his four precious grandsons; he made a conscious effort to be at every sporting and school event in support of his loved ones. Michael loved hunting and fishing, but most of all he cherished every single family vacation especially to Daytona beach. His family meant everything to him. He will be dearly missed by all.
Left to cherish Michael’s memory are his beloved wife of 39 years Sherri, sons Aaron (Tasha) and Adam (Kaila), daughter Tiffany and four grandsons, Silas, Sawyer, Summit and Stover.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 5th, 2024, from 1:30pm to 3pm at Mountain View Church of God of Canton, NC, with a celebration of life service held at 3pm with Rev. Mike Hicks and Rev. Mark Edwards officiating. A graveside service to follow at Gwyn Cemetery of Cruso, NC. Pallbearers will be Kevin Petersen, Buddy Harwood, Larry Edwards, Randy Medford, Roy Taylor and Blake Owenby; with Michael’s grandsons as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate.
