Clyde-Michael Wayne Haynes, Sr., age 62, of 46 Chapel View Drive, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at his residence. A native of Newport News, Virginia, he had lived most of his life in Haywood County. A son of the late Clayton and Virginia Duckett Haynes, he was also preceded in death by a stepfather, Ralph Sichert. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Woodland Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nina James Haynes; a daughter, Tina H. Owenby and her husband, Lynn, of High Point, NC; a son, Michael W. Haynes, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Waynesville; a sister, Margaret Kapher, of Florida; four brothers, Clayton and Edwin Haynes, both of Maryland, Harley Lee Haynes, of Hickory, and Gary Haynes of Chesnee, SC; and three grandsons, Taylor and Dalton Owenby and Aubrey Haynes. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Committal services will follow in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain at 12:00 Noon with Military Rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the residence.
