"Loving Son, Brother & Outdoorsman"

Michael Newman Huffman, age 26, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Mission Hospital.

Michael was born and raised in Haywood County, graduating from Tuscola High School in 2009, employed by Evergreen Packaging and was a member at Woodland Baptist Church. The sweet and loving middle son of Roger and April Jaynes Huffman, Michael was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and roaming the mountains digging ginseng. He was always available to help anyone with anything. Michael was an animal lover, a devoted son and brother whose love was felt by many and will not be forgotten.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Stuart Holcombe Jaynes.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Kyle and Noah Huffman; maternal grandfather, David F. and Sharon Jaynes; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Nell Davis; a nephew, Ashton Huffman; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best friends, Frank Rich and Courtney Mashburn.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
