Waynesville, Michael Gerald Sena, Sr., age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at his residence. A native of Newark, New Jersey and former resident of Tallahassee, Florida, Mike had lived in Waynesville, North Carolina for the past eleven years. He was the son of the late Frank and Rosa Tenori Sena and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Robert Sena. He was a US Army veteran having served during World War II and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rotary Club of Naples. He was a designer and builder of many of his own homes. He was an employee of Eastern Airlines and White Laboratories and owned and operated Custom Craft Printing, Minit Print Shoppes, and Michael's Custom Services. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Frey Sena; three daughters, Patricia Sena of North East, Maryland, Laura Montgomery and her husband, Robert, of Tallahassee, Florida and Carolyn Gentile and her husband, Stephen, of Rexburg, Idaho; one son, Michael Sena, Jr. and his wife, Irene, of Tallahassee, Florida; a sister, Marie Sena, of Round Rock, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Jamie and Michael Derham, Jennifer Wilmot, Megan Montgomery, Danielle, Andrew, Natalie, and Giana Sena, and Daniel, Caleb, Sarah, Stephen, and Elizabeth Gentile; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kayden and Felix Sena and Josephine and Mary Wilmot. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012 at WNC Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with military graveside rites performed by the Buncombe County Veterans Council.
