Michael Turner

Waynesville, Michael Jon Turner, age 43, died on Monday, December 7, 2009 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of JoAnn Turner of Tennessee and was preceded in death by his uncle, Dick Jones and a nephew, Joshua Turner. Michael was employed with Arvin- Meritor Corporation as a welder. Michael had a passion for working on his farm with his cows and horses. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and most of all loved his family. His nieces and nephews remembered him fondly as "Uncle Monkey" and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Keresten Turner, a daughter, Morgan Turner; two stepsons, Brandon and Kelly Burgess; one brother, Randy Turner, and his wife, Pam of Waynesville; mother-in-law, Renee Gibson, of Clyde; sister-in-law, Kelly Rogers, of Woodfin, NC; two nieces, Mackenzie Turner and Lillian Moore; nephew, Jordan Rogers and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December10, 2009 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral with Reverend Bobby Rogers and Reverend Doug Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the Allison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be David Barron, Marty Sutton, Keith Gunter, Bobby Watson and Scott Luther.
