Milas Rathbone

December 29, 1909 — January 31, 2004

Clyde-Milas Newton Rathbone, age 94, of Wesley Creek Road, Fines Creek Community, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Autumn Care Nursing Home.

He was a native and life long resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mattie Kirkpatrick Rathbone. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Amos, and Dolman Rathbone, and a sister, Georgia Rathbone.

He is survived by two sisters, Fannie Ledford and Bonnie Rathbone, both of Clyde.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2004 at the Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Reverend Jimmy Moore will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times, the family will be at the home of the nephew, Dennis Rathbone, 1732 Fines Creek Road, Clyde.

The pallbearers will be Milas Ledford, Scott Ledford, James Allen Rathbone, Larry Rathbone, Jimmy Gibson, and Brian Justice.
