Mildred Artis

Mildred Jones Artis, 76, of Asheville, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was the daughter of the late David and Lorena McAfee Jones. She was a caterer and chef at many restaurants in Asheville and New York City. She was the head chef for the dedication of the USS Ronald Reagan. Mildred loved plants, movies, sweets and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie and Elizabeth and brother, John, Paul and James.
Mildred is survived by her siblings, Louise White, David (Barbara) Jones, Bill (Daphine) Jones, Dorothy (Ronnie) Adams, Loretta Jones and Pauline (Toby) Maxwell and many nieces and nephews. We will miss her cooking, wit and love.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 16th in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Rev. Keith Ogden officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
