Mildred Baggett

March 22, 1926 — June 19, 2017

"1926 – 2017" Candler – Mildred "Dick" Moody Baggett, 91, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at her residence after a long battle with Alzheimers. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Noble Wiley and Esther Wilson Moody. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Baggett, who died in 1981; three sisters, Cora Medford, Maudie Phillips and Frances Watts; and two brothers, Ed and Frank Moody. Mildred was a simple, sweet, and selfless lady. You would always find her with a smile and was never one to complain. An avid gardener, she loved spending time outside and was also an excellent cook. Mildred adored her family and cherished her time with them. She is survived by a daughter, Kathey Hare of Candler; two brothers, Odis Moody and wife, Margie, and Ralph Moody, all of Haywood County; one grandchild, Candace Heaton and husband, Bruce; and one great-grandchild, Eli Heaton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801 or to one's own favorite charity.
