Mildred Boone

Waynesville, Mildred Rogers Burrell Boone, age 86, of 77 Cross Creek Road, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Autumn Care Facility. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Harmon Rogers and Minta Jarrett Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Alexander Burrell, who died in 1985. Mildred was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church for many years and at her passing was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, James K. Boone; one daughter, Teresa Burrell Herrin and her husband, David, of Asheville; two sons, Danny Burrell and his wife, Mary, of Denver, CO and Gary Burrell and his wife, Karen, of York, SC; a stepdaughter Kathy Elliott and her husband, Jim, of Hunnington, VT; two stepsons, Kenneth Boone and his wife, Sakona, of Charlotte, and David Boone and his wife, Peggy, of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Hazelwood Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to services.
