Mildred Brock

Waynesville - Mildred Dean Brock, age 75, of 304 Springview Drive, died Friday, September 29, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alice West Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Jarvis B. Brock who died July 31, 1995 and a sister, Dixie Waldrup. Mrs. Brock was a resident of Haywood County for 31 years. She was a Guidance Counselor in the Haywood County School System and a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Dean Brock and his wife, Rebecca of Asheville, NC; Truett Brock and his wife, Karen of Easley, SC; Zane Brock and his wife, Pam of Flowery Branch, GA; two sisters, Cora Lee McGaha of Balsam, NC; Ruth McGaha of Andrews, NC; and five grandchildren, Mallory, Anzlee, Chelsea, Ghilman and Janette Brock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2006 at Hazelwood Baptist Church with Reverend Don Letzring and Reverend Charles Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville and at other times, at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hazelwood Baptist Church, Children Library, 265 Hazelwood Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786. Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville will announce arrangements.
