Mildred Green

Canton, Mildred Hannah Green, age 71, is singing in Heaven's choir as of Tuesday, January 15, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Bryson and Lorena Messer Hannah. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mazie Carver and two brothers, Carl and Arthur Hannah. She was owner and administrator of McCracken Assisted Living. Mildred was an amazing wife, mother, and mamaw who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She published many songs in her lifetime and sang for several years with the Hannah sisters and family. Mildred was also a prayer warrior who would comfort and care for a complete stranger. She will be remembered for her selflessness and for being a caring servant for her Lord. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Milford Green; two daughters, Debbie Ingle and husband, Rickey, of Clyde and Rebecca Kiker and husband, Travis, of Wake Forest; two sons, Danny Green and wife, Robin, of Candler and Eddy Green and wife, Rosemary, of Maggie Valley; two sisters, Maggie Rathbone and son, Joey, of Lake Junaluska and Betty Lou Melton and husband, Houston, of Sylva; one brother, Doug Hannah, of Lake Junaluska; eleven grandchildren, Skye, Stone, Nevaeh, and Legacy Kiker, Joshua and Matt Ingle, Leah Harris and husband, Josh, Dakota Green, Kathleen and Alex Green, Leslie Bauchman and husband, Tim; and one great grandson, Corbin Bauchman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at New Covenant Church with Travis Kiker, Reverend Jerry Nelson and Pastor Rickey Ingle officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.
