Mildred Hall

Mildred Camby Hall, 100, of Pleasant Ridge Drive, Asheville, passed this life on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was born February 10, 1910 in Ridgecrest to the late John Victor & Adabelle Huntley Camby. She loved the outdoors, maintaining a backyard garden of many plants, shrubs and flowers. She had lived alone until shortly before her death. Her love of animals extended to many pets, but the love of her life was Benje, a terrier who never let her out of her sight.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edward Morris Hall; son, Ronnie Edward Hall and 8 siblings.
She is survived by her son, Robert Hall and wife, Ernestine, of Hickory; daughter-in-law, Rena Hall of Old Fort; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, of whom she was very proud and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 20th at Oteen Baptist Church, Asheville with the Revs. Gayle and Ron Brown will officiate and read from John 14. Her nephew, Chris, will sing 'I'll Be With You Jesus When Spring Comes'. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oteen Baptist Church, 37 Oteen Church Road, Asheville, NC 28805 or John S. Keever Solace Center, 68 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
