Waynesville – Mildred Mae (Hooper) Pressley, 83, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She had most recently been a resident of Autumn Care of Waynesville.
Mildred was a native of Jackson County but had resided in Haywood County for most of her life and was a daughter of the late Vernon and Edna Lois Lanning Hooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Pressley, who died in 2019; as well as four sisters and two brothers. Mildred was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from Dayco International in 1992 with 30 years of service.
She is survived by a son, Ronald David Pressley and his family of North Carolina. Her passing will also be mourned by other extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. A private burial will take place following the service. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Pressley has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
