Mildred Miller

Waynesville, Mildred Louise Cunningham Miller, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Wid Thomas and Edna Williams Cunningham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Miller, and three brothers, Ned, Tilman, and Garrett Cunningham. Mildred loved to be outdoors and enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. The most important part of her life was her family, whom she cared for and loved dearly and was a member of Richland Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Miller and her husband, Paul, of Elizabeth City, NC and Patricia Williams and her husband, Terry Sell, of Clyde; one son-in-law, Berry Hightower, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Joseph Cunningham of Waynesville and Glen Cunningham of Clyde; five grandchildren, Berry C. Hightower, III, of Maryland, Angela Repking and her husband, David, of Chicago; Leeann Webb and her husband, Jake, and Bryon and Travis Williams, all of Clyde; and five great grandchildren, Johnathon, Elizabeth, and Reilly Repking, and Savannah and P. J. Webb. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Richland Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Lloyd Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Miller, David Repking, Levi Parks, Jimmy, Bryan and Austin Cunningham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22311.
